ON VACATION
Nice to get a break from the snow, even when temperatures here in Alabama are below seasonal norms. Go figure, it will warm up considerably the day we are leaving and next week will be great. Timing is everything.
That being said, the trip has provided a much needed break and change in surroundings. It has also been a great reminder of how much better life is on a journey of recovery. I am truly grateful for the changes in my life.
A few years ago, a "boys" trip to golf would be an adventure in insanity. Golf, lost nights and tough mornings. Shadows of memories with no desire to fill in the blanks.
This trip has been proof of what life changes can give.
I have enjoyed the company of my travelling companions, met a lot of very nice people, enjoyed some great food and a gourgeous golf course, slept fitfully, and have had much concious contact.
Mornings and memoories have been as clear as the blue skies.
I am starting to look forward to getting home to those I love and my own bed, but am truly grateful for this break and the new experiences.
I have been in touch through the internet with clients and sponsees, and have been able through that medium, and some personal contact with a few people I've met to keep an element of service ongoing!
So off to the golf course. Warm enough for a Canadian to play in shorts today, and hope always springs eternal that my golf game will be decent!
