MORE MESSAGES TO HEAR
Over the last week I posted on the Idea Engineer done by my mentor, Dr. Randin Brons. This week's Engineer was quotes only, but messages you might need to hear.
What message did you most need to hear?

"No man, for any considerable period, can wear one face to himself, and another to the multitude, without finally getting bewildered as to which may be true." -- Nathaniel Hawthorne

"You cannot fake a relationship and feel right with yourself or anyone else. Changing yourself to fit what you think other people want doesn't work. Pretending to be someone other than yourself only broadens the distance between the person you are and the one with whom you're trying to establish closeness." -- Mary Manin Morrissey

"Just as surely as distress must follow self-deceit, healing must follow self-honesty." -- Vernon Howard

"Don't compromise yourself. You are all you've got." -- Janis Joplin

I lived the Hawthorne quote for far too long. Man, it is hard being an actor on the stage of life. "Bewilderment" puts things mildly.
The biggest relationship I faked was with me, what wasted years were spent trying to kid myself all was all right. My relationships with the "yous’'" in my life reflected the one I had with self!! When self-honesty through life recovery came around, healing has, and continues to follow. Today, although some of the things I do goes against the grain of others, as the late great Janis suggested, I try not to compromise myself, stay spiritually fit and in conscious contact, remembering in a worldly sense ultimately I am all I have, and I strive to make it as good as I can make it.
Thanks Randin for some messages that I needed to hear and remember.
Any spark thoughts in you. I'd love to read your thoughts at this site or comment at www.hopeserenity.ca. That site is free to participate on also and yes Curm, it is mine.
